Ages 10+
Friday, January 19th & Saturday, January 20th
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Join Anne Atkinson at Arts on Main on Friday, January 19th & Saturday, January 20th from 4:30pm - 6:00pm for a papier-mâché workshop! Students will explore the meaning of the word “MASK,” and then create their own masks out of papier-mâché. It can mean a tribute to ancestors. It can mean a hidden identity. It can be a spooky Halloween face.
For hundreds of years, indigenous people in the Americas and Africa have celebrated their heritage through music and art. Masks were essential to the observations of tradition, and part of their dances.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor.
