During the month of September 2023, Arts on Main will exhibit a solo show, “Green and Other Colors” featuring Joan Bevelaqua. The opening of the show will take place at our First Friday event on Friday, September 1st from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The body of work will be on display from September 1st – September 30th.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Joan Bevelaqua has made a mark on many aspects of the art community. A painter who works primarily in watercolor and oil, Joan has held teaching positions, juried art exhibitions, and directed several galleries. She also has held a number of organizational positions, including serving as President of the Watermark Gallery in Baltimore, Md. and on the Board of Directors for Foundry Street Studios and Gallery in Savage, Md., and on the Art Advisory Board at UMGC.
Her artistic talents earned her a B.A. in art from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Ma. And an M.F.A. in Painting from Towson University in Towson, Md. Additionally, she studied Advanced Watercolor with John Stuart Ingle at the University of Minnesota, Morris, MN
First Friday is on September 1st from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. This event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
