Triangle loom weaving
Instructor: Janet Griffin
Saturday, March 29
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Join Janet Griffin on Saturday, March 29th from 12:00pm - 5:00pm for a triangle loom workshop at Arts on Main!
Triangle looms are built with stationary nails around which the yarn is looped, so that both the warp and the weft work at the same time! Incredible for sure, and you don’t have to plan a sett, thread the heddles or sley a reed. You just weave! All materials will be provided by the instructor. You may request the colors of your wool or cotton yarns ahead of time from the instructor. When finished, your work of art will be wearable for years to come!
Skill level: Just a desire to learn to make your own one-of-a-kind wearable art!
For teens and adults
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Hi I’m Janet Griffin, retired elementary art teacher. Yes, I had a great time doing that for 40 years. So now I get to teach adults, and I must say it has been fabulous. So my work is based on our natural world, I find texture in colors to be so alluring. Both weaving and felting we will explore.
