During this course, students will be taught STEAM-based (Science Technology Engineering Art Math) art lessons that focus on current SOL (Standards of Learning) objectives in math and science. Our goals are to provide hands-on experiential learning through art making and to increase student understanding of concepts related to math and science content. Students will learn about two-dimensional shapes, explore color schemes, and create masterpieces using a variety of mediums and the process of art technique.
All supplies will be provided by the instructor. For children ages 5-7.
At the end of the course, one art piece from each student will be put on display to be featured in a reception at Arts on Main on Thursday, May 15th from 5:30pm - 6:30pm. One piece will be awarded best in show, and will get to have their art featured in the gallery for an extra week!
